Unlike an isolated procedure (for example, whitening alone or a single veneer), a Smile Makeover considers the whole picture. Dr Radu Podar will assess the shape of the teeth, the shade, the proportions, the gum line and the relationship between the smile and the rest of the face, in order to build a personalised treatment plan, step by step.

Within a Smile Makeover we can combine, where needed:

Teeth whitening - for a brighter smile, a few shades lighter than the natural colour, done safely and under control.

Dental veneers - thin layers of ceramic applied to the front of the teeth, to correct the shape, the shade or the overall appearance. Veneers are one of the most effective and minimally invasive cosmetic dentistry solutions.

Crowns or bridges - when teeth need more extensive reconstruction or when a missing tooth is to be replaced with a fixed restoration.

Dental implants - the permanent solution for missing teeth, forming the foundation of a complete and functional smile.

Minor corrections of position or of the gums - small adjustments that make a visible difference: levelling the gum line, correcting asymmetries or improving the overall appearance of the arch.

A quality Smile Makeover is not improvised; it is planned. Here is what the complete process looks like, step by step, at our clinic in Alba Iulia:

1. Consultation + intraoral scan + photographs

‍It all begins with a complete assessment. We carry out a digital intraoral scan of your arch and take professional photographs of your smile, so that we can analyse the proportions, the symmetry and the general condition of your teeth and gums. This is the foundation on which the whole plan is built.

2. Digital smile design (Smile Design)

‍Using the photographs and the scan, the dentist creates a digital design of your final smile. You can see, even before any treatment begins, how the result will look. This is one of the essential differences between a Smile Makeover and conventional treatment.

3. Presenting the options + approval of the design by the patient

‍We take no decision without your agreement. We present the possible options, discuss expectations, preferences and realistic aesthetic outcomes together, and you approve the design before we move on to the next stage.

4. Mock-up - testing the smile before the final treatment

Using the mock-up technique, Dr Radu Podar temporarily applies to the teeth a material that simulates the shape and appearance of the final restoration. The patient can therefore “wear” the new smile for a few days, speak with it, look in the mirror and decide whether they would like any adjustments before moving on. It is a safeguard we consider essential.

5. Minimally invasive preparation (when required)

‍When the situation calls for it, for example with veneers or crowns, we prepare the teeth with minimal preparation, designed to conserve as much natural tooth structure as possible. Our approach is always as conservative as it can be.

6. Temporary restoration

‍While your definitive restorations are being made in the laboratory, you will wear an aesthetic temporary restoration. You will not spend a single day with teeth you would rather hide.

7. Try-in + final cementation

‍Before the final cementation, we carry out a final try-in to check the shape, the shade and the occlusal comfort. Only once everything has been validated is the definitive restoration fitted.

8. Check-up and aftercare advice

‍A Smile Makeover does not end at cementation. We will guide you on correct cleaning, the products we recommend and a schedule of regular check-ups, so that the result is maintained for as long as possible.
